what is the reaction when hydrogen sulpide is added into water? Why it is more smelly?

最佳解答:

H2S has a similarly structure as H2O however S is not electronegative as O so it is not as polar as water . When it is added to water will be dissolved to form a weakly acid . At 0 degree C 427 H2S will dissolve in 100 ml H2O . When there 2 ppb H2S around you can detect the foul odor ! This is nature to send a warning to us because at higher % H2S present , it is toxic to us !!! Maybe the acid increases the intensity of the rotten egg .
